Have you ever wished that you could go back in time just to change something? If you have you are not alone, because everybody has those wishes. A song by The Avett Brothers called Shame show their thoughts and feelings of someone who wishes he/she could change the past. In the song the singer is remorseful, and disgusted by his former actions. We as the audience can see this tone more clearly through key words like blame, strutting, and guilt seen throughout the song. These three words very clearly cement the fact that he feels remorseful and disgusted by his actions, and he even says " Please make it stop" which indicates he feels shame towards a specific person. In the end The Avett Brothers use several key words through out the song Shame to create a specific tone and subject.
